Fall Ocotillos

A trip up the Bradshaw trail, continuing through Amy’s Wash Road, and out Summit road.  As thunderstorms and rain were hitting the greater Southern California area, we were treated with perfect temperatures and cloudy skies.  The ocotillo were in stunning fall colors.  Clumps of them would range from green to crimson in color, only luminescent from the side opposite the sun.  This caused a holographic effect as you drove  by.  Quite stunning.

On the way to the Bradshaw, we discovered some typical desert fodder.  A stolen van shot to hell and stripped.  But, the poor family pet was left behind.  Caught in the hail of bullets.  I’m afraid he did not make it.
